The CSS Advantage

For the first html coding assignment I heard many people talking about how they used CSS along with HTML. I had no idea what CSS was so I decided it best if I just stuck with what I knew. However in the recent assignment there was no choice but to use both side by side. This wasn't hard because the book reassured me by clarifying:

"CSS is also a language, but it has not been around as long as HTML. In many ways, CSS was created in order to fill some of the short comings of HTML."

In my mind this means that CSS and HTML are friends. They work with one another and fill in each others gaps. HTML provides a basic content foundation, while CSS steps in to make things easy and pretty!

The readings for this week go into exact detail of how to use CSS for particular tasks and how to use CSS to your advantage when making your page look good. I found it easy flipping from HTML to CSS in Dreamweaver because the buttons provided easy step by step explanation of how I wanted content to look. Running into a few road blocks along the way during my first Dreamweaver activity - I'm excited to use my new knowledge about CSS on upcoming projects.
