Lesson 9

In this lesson we learned about interactive features to your website. This is exactly what we are looking to put into our client websites seeing that it is required we have 2 interactive features. Specifically Osborne talked about flash, sound, and video content on a website. With the web we have today, I've noticed nearly every website has some sort of video somewhere on their page now and they're very effective... unless they're ads. Many sites do though have their own videos they throw into a site or interactive flash. The important thing about this is to use it moderately. Nobody enjoys opening up a page with 5 different colors flashing boxes in their eyes and unexpected sounds blaring through the speakers they accidentally left at 100%. Many sites now give a few second warning to a user about something about to happen, just time to prepare.

When I think of too much going on at once I think of the "worst website of 2012" we looked at in class of the religious website that just had 50 things moving at once.
