Flash, Video and Sound Content
Lesson 9 was all about how to add flash, video, and sound content to a web page. Although I am not planning on using any of those things on my website right now, it's nice to know how to do it. A video can be a very effective way to bring your users in and attract them to your website if you use it the right way. I've seen websites that have videos and sounds that are very effective and I've seen ones that are not. For example, I was applying for a job at Detroit Business Consulting and I went to their website and was completely over whelmed by the music and the falling Easter decorations and all the fancy stuff they made their website do. It took away from the site itself and I ended up getting too annoyed and closing it right away. Like we've talked about before, just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. You really don't want to have so much going on like the site I posted above, that it takes away from your actual content and design.
