This reading/lesson was about adding extra fancy things to websites, including videos, animation and sound. Personally, I feel as though adding video,sound and especially animation to a website that's already full of content may be a little excessive. We've all seen them, those crazy over the top websites that simply try too hard. (I'm sure video, animation and sound can be incorporated into websites in more tasteful ways too. It's just I haven't really seen any examples yet.)
One thing I learned from this reading was the differences between QuickTime, Flash and Windows Media. It's interesting how Flash generally works better, except when it comes to mobile devices. The book said that most use Flash because it will reach the widest audience. Just something to keep in mind if videos ever make it into my website.
