Okay guys, time to get serious now. Just though I'd let Gary start us off right. Now, I've always had the impression that Dreamweaver was going to make creating and designing websites the easiest thing in the world- little did I know that previous understanding and experience in coding was quite (but not completely necessary) to use it. The first chapter gives us the low-down on HTML, and is just barely enough to "jump-start" you in the hand-coding club, but honestly not enough for me to feel comfortable with, so as many other's, I'm feeling pretty (well at least a little bit) more prepared to open up this program now.
The second chapter really gets us going, to be honest, I'm a visual learner (which I think I've stated before, but anyways) because I like to see what and how things work as I learn them I feel that reading this and referring to it as I have the program open right in front of me is the only way to go about really delving into this tutorial and information. The chapter was very helpful in defining a few terms that we haven't necessarily been introduced to yet, like site, the servers, version control (which I am looking forward to discussing in class because I'm slightly/really confused about how all of these server-things work), and don't even get me started on FTP...I mean I know what it kind of means...but it still hasn't clicked with me yet. More fun new terms: cloaking, design notes, templates, and spry--ain't that a fun one, eh? Seeing that is has to do with Javascript, it doesn't look like I'll be using the term any time soon.
Anways, these two chapters are our intro into Dreamweaver....who I believe can get us through the night...and Ohhhhhhhh Dreamweaver...I believe we can reach the morning light
*too much caffeine this morning
