Adding a touch of style to our Cascading Stylesheets. I was a freshmen in high school when this was written. Ouch, I am getting old. Nonetheless, the internet hasn't changed too much. Lets see, the author suggests that we should set the page margins which makes sense. The author also talks about controlling the white space above and below. Makes sense. The dreaded em's are hard for me to calculate, but the good thing about it is that it scales with the size of the font. Basically the author shows how to control the font size and setting the font family. This kind of stuff is definitely important, it explicitly calls out what does what. The more things that we imply, the more ways things can get messed up.
The author mentions that older browsers before Netscape 4.0 and IE 4.0 dont support CSS at all or do so inconsistently The author gets my praise for actually using CSS in his code. :) I appreciate the author having a hexadecimal color values, but with the app Wendy showed us, this becomes outdated. He brings up some great points about colors not displaying in the browser correctly. Makes sense. Pretty cool stuff.
