I was trying to gather as much as I could from the Web Architecture reading. In the beginning it discusses the importance of URI's. From what I gathered and how I interpreted it, URI's act as a translator for different types of code. I could be completely wrong however. At first I wondered why URI's are so important for web structure. And after reading I still felt like the author didn't fully explain (or easily) explain the definition or importance of URI's. I was trying to figure out if URI's changed along with the "times" or if they were a set function but I still could not fully understand their function in the first place.
Interface is a term that refers to how a website looks and how it interacts with users. Some interface designs are concrete such as the fact that hyperlinks are always underlined. Many aspects of interface can be modified by the creator so that a site is customized to their liking in respect with the users needs and wants. The author states that a good interface design starts with a simple plan. This means deciding what, where, and how information will be laid out. One important aspect of a simple plan is figuring out a simple design. I really appreciated the suggestion of using sticky notes or design software when planning because the design will change many times. The author made a point to mention that design should be simple. I feel that this is important because users respond well to simple, uncomplicated layouts, however if a site is too simple they might become disinterested. Clear information doesn't always have to be overly simplified. There needs to be intrigue and creativity with the layout.
