Colors

So colors are another very important aspect of a web page.  Too many time designers don't think about how viewers will be affected by the colors of their page.  That not to say all do that, many more pages actually use the colors to their advantage to grow their argument.

Taking into account complementary colors and analogous colors, a page can subconsciously influence the viewer to the point where the user won't pay attention to the colors and instead focus on the content. We have all seen those pages which were just atrocious, and we remember the horrible colors as opposed to what was on the site.  However think about the good sites you have been too, you don't think about the colors for more than a moment.

If you're not careful about your color choices, they can hurt your page, not only because it can drive viewers away, but it can produce an undesired feeling.  If you are trying to make a website to inform about nature, you probably don't want to use a bright red theme, but rather a subtle green.  If you are trying to appear professional, you don't want a silly color combination.  You have to think about the things discussed earlier, audience, purpose and context.  These can all help determine the appropriate colors to use.
