All of the readings were extremely practical in that they offered a lot of examples of basic coding elements. I'm definitely going to bookmark at least a couple of them because I think a lot of this information will come in handy when I try to build my personal website. The reading that dealt with web vs. print images and the RGB vs. CMYK color modes brought up some points that I had never considered before. I never realized how differently images destined for print and web were set up and how big of a difference it truly makes. It's good to know that JPEG and GIF are the image types used for web content.
Again w3schools came through with some awesome code examples and breaking things down in a very understandable and digestible way. I feel like I have a much better understandings of what HTML5 is now that I've read their piece. The charts about the new HTML5 elements will be extremely important once we start designing, so it was great to start becoming familiar with it. Also, the codes chart on web-source is pretty much the best thing to happen to things. I feel more comfortable knowing that I have this reference available to me as I begin stumbling through coding.
