These articles follow a similar format of the past week. Discussing coding and programming concepts but also describing the importance of visual aspects that go into web creations. The theme that the assigned readings have taught me about web design is that a person must have a well balanced set of skills. You cannot have a good website with just good programming and a horrible visual interface - and vise versa. Having a successful website involves solid graphics, engineering and content. Without at least a little bit of each a website will fail.
The other important concept discussed with the article is the difference between CSS and HTML. As with the past readings, these articles also lose me with the multiple definitions and acronyms. However the article gives a clear distinction between them stating that "HTML is used to structure content. CSS is used for formatting structured content." This definition gives a basic understanding of concepts that hopefully will become more clear in the class discussion.
