Yay. HTML & CSS!
First reading, think like a writer huh? What the heck?
I learned a new word, its Grok. The dictionary tells me that it is understanding intuitively or with empathy. Cool. Semantic is also pretty sweet, kinda knew that word. The concept of merging mentalities is a really good idea. I like to think only like an artist but the reading definitely provides some good insight on why it is better to become more versatile or Voltron-style, to form the designer. When you're intimately familiar with the languages we use to build websites your inner artist will be free to create. Music to my ears. As a designer, I just want to design, I really dont like words, or writing, or reading. But people would be confused, and I cannot code, or pass this class, without reading or writing, so I will give it some effort.
HTML is the "mother tongue" of your browser. Hmmm interesting metaphor. HTML is used to make websites, as simple as that. Well put. Hyper is the opposite of linear. Good article #2
Cascading Style Sheets also known as CSS. In my understanding its a shortcut to make specific sections or areas, pretty. In the article it says that HTML is used to sturucture content. CSS is used for formatting content. There are benefits to CSS which are control layout of many documents from a single sheet. More precise control of layout; numerous advanced and sophisticated techniques. Ooh <div> tag.
The last reading's URL was inputted into the calendar incorrectly, it says MarkVp/Guide. When I found it, it was a "short" introduction to writing HTML. Haha, good information but not short. Please dont take my humor for any negativity, I am very excited to make mistakes and mess stuff up. Then I will learn.
