Usability and DOCTYPE

I felt like the article “10 Useful Usability Findings and Guidelines” may come across as a lot of common sense practices, but it’s a good idea for us to have these ideas at the forefront of our minds while we consider our personal websites.

For example, you should always put your most important information first so it’s what the users will see, especially if they don’t scroll. Also, links should be blue. Users expect links to be blue, we are conditioned that way, so if you were to use a different color, a user may not notice that something was a link, and may not be able to find it.

As for the other readings, I’m a little nervous for when we start coding. Currently, all this coding stuff feels like a lot to take in, and I’m afraid that I’m not going to remember it all.
