The slideshow is great. The best things to change are the links above could be bigger, maybe more bold and then there is a lot of green so maybe once you add text that will change, there is definitely something that could be added to take away from so much green.
Haha, PICKLES! I love it! Having the slideshow is really cool, because it shows all the products. I do find your header to be a little plain, it might be nice to add a few extra colors to it, just to make it pop.
I love your photo slide show right one the home page. The colors are good, but the navigation bar is hard to read and is a bit hard on my eyes. Also, the some people might not notice the text below the scroll so maybe if you put it next to the slide show, it might add to your design.
The colors are very good and the slideshow is entertaining. It is a little difficult to read some of the header. Check the fold and try to keep everything above when possible.
like the colors. on the home screen at least on my computer the flicker video did not want to work. On the projector I found that the red on the menu bar fade into the black making it hard to read might want to change it.
I like that you are drawing colors from the pickles themselves with the red peppers and such - I feel using blacks and whites are on the extreme ends of the spectrum making them hard to look at for too long - maybe creams? or dark grays?
Love the picture slider! Makes me want to buy some of Pop's pickles, ASAP. The color scheme works great too, as Meg suggested maybe a lighter green too. Also, as Katelyn suggested, moving the text thats below the images will give the user all the info they need above the fold.
PROS:
ReplyDelete-awesome interactive feature
-I like the colors (maybe a little dark)
-like the white header
CONS:
-red is hard to read

ReplyDeleteStrengths: Diggin' the slideshow! I also like your background color a lot. It makes me think of a pickle, which I'm guessing is the intent.
ReplyDeleteWork on: The nav bar doesn't seem to mesh well with the rest of the colors...I would consider trying a color other than red for the links.
Strengths:
ReplyDelete- Good colors for the entire pickle website
- Flickr slide show is fun
Area of Development:
- Nav bar colors are kind of tough to read

ReplyDeleteThe pickle color is awesome.
Also, have you thought about aligning our homepage text next to the slideshow? It may help eliminate the scrolling.

ReplyDeleteStrengths: Color scheme is very illustrative of the content. Header/navigation are simply designed and easy to use.
ReplyDeleteSuggestions: Refine the colors for usability. The idea is great, but the actual display effect could be difficult to read.
