Mixin' it up with some multimedia

Time to put my blogging pants back on; it's been a while, so let's see if they still fit! And now I'll turn off the cheese. Lesson 9 tells us about adding multimedia content to our site, which can make it more interesting and engaging to users. Whether you're into flash movies, videos, or sound, Dreamweaver's got your back. Maybe. Overall, multimedia can take a site from flat and static to a dynamic and hoppin' digital hangout. I think this is especially cool for our portfolios, since if you're savvier and have madder skills than I do (which I'm sure many are) then you probably have some videos or other interactive projects that you'd like to show off! I'm generally boring and stick to messing with words and the occasional illustrator canvas or photo.

I'm especially excited about sound, as I'm thinking I might record some brief descriptions of my projects to supplement my textual analyses of them. This isn't a 100% sure thing yet, so don't hold me to it. I'm just feeling ambitious and creative right now, so I'm coming up with all of these cool ideas that could either be amazing...or make me want cut a Dreamweaver. All in all, learning how to incorporate multimedia is useful even if I'm not sure that I'm going to use in my portfolio. However, who knows what the future will bring? It just might be one of those kind of random skills that comes in handy one day! Peace.
