  1. I like the colors except for the black text; it's a little hard to read on the green. The use of white space is good; i like the bar on the bottom. The menu fails into the rest of the website; bring attention to it.

  2. I like the idea of it. An interactive resume.
The idea of a drop down by is pretty sweet.

The color is kind of hard to read.
    Wait where did it go?

  3. Strengths:
    - complimentary colors
    - great use of white space
    - head font is fancy yet still simple enough to read

    Area for Development:
    - navigation bar centered
    - navigation link font larger
    - too many different greens and blues, the two in the header work very well though. specifically the footer: darker green and lighter blue make is harder to read.
    - navigation 'pop ups' overlay buttons

  4. The organized layout is nice. The contact bar on the bottom could be larger with a different font color and size so that it's easier to read. Also, the links on the top should be larger with a different font style.

  5. The navigation bar is pretty hard to read. It's very small and the green on blue is hard to see. It's a good structure and well laid out and will be great for an engineer.

  6. The structure and layout works well for the content of the site and the audience that will be viewing and using the site, especially for an engineer! However, I feel that you may want to correlate the typefaces, I think you are using three different typefaces, you may just want to stick to two and use different ways to differentiate between groups of text. I like the more boxy text, reminds me of an engineer!

  7. Strengths: very clean and organized it looks like it would be very easy to maneuver around, and to find the content that you were looking for

Areas for Development: the green color of the header is a little intense and that might just be due to the projector, but it is something I would consider

  8. I've heard colorblindness is more prevalent in the engineering community - might want to pick a different combination than blue and green, or increase the contrast. Your design sends a clear message that your page is an interactive resume.

  9. I think you have a good structure in place that can organize the information well. I agree that the site offers solid contrast in terms of color, so that plays as a strong point.

However, I would play around with the colors a bit. The bottom bar is a bit hard to read with that color combo as well. I would also play with the top navigation bar to get it all on one line if you can! One small thing would be the stars at the bottom. In the professional engineering context that you've described, this might not necessarily fit.

  10. Krystina,

The color of the header is a little bright. Maybe look into using shades of the green. I am also unsure of how I feel about the blue text over the green... although it is contrasting, it is a little distracting because of the shades of green and blue.

The name is very prominent. The audience will want to know more about him.

There are some spelling errors you could double check on. :)

I also think the height of the footer could be made a little larger to allow space for the text.

  11. The colors on the page are rough on the eyes and the tabs were not all in line with each other. The drop down menus are difficult to read. The layout is clear and predictable and makes it obvious what the page is for.

  12. PROS:
-alignment (header and nav bar) the spacing and format is very clean and organized
    -links
    -drop down menu

    CONS:
-colors are a little harsh together (maybe try white as a color for the text when it's on top of a solid colored box)
-typefaces clash (I like the typeface in the body but the heading is a little hard to read and doesn't go with the "engineering"theme)

  13. A lot of green, maybe add some different colors, or images. Make sure menu bar stays in one line at the top.

The font for the header looks good, but the mixture of bright green and blue is a bit bright.

  14. Strengths: I like the font and the use of spacing, it's easy to follow and is clean.

Things to work on: I agree, the nav bar could be centered and the size of the font seems small. I also think that the lime green seems a little much, maybe try something more like the nav bar color? I'm also having a hard time reading the footer because of the color scheme.

  15. I know you were having problems with your header, and it looks great!

I'm not having a problem on my screen, but the projectors are making it a bit ahrd to read the blue on green.

From a usability standpoint, your menu bar displays with the submenu covering the root level stuff in a way that makes it a bit hard to read. Additionally, could you use %-based sizing to change the length of your menu bar to fill the space the same way as the header?

Lastly, I figure a way to get back to the front page, though you might just not have gotten that far in your coding yet.

  16. thanks for the feedback. I am trying to apply and fix the changes. I did do the color blind test for the site and the green and the blues should be alright for a person to read & view if they were color blind.

  17. Looking at your site again, the blue text on the white background is a little small and hard to read for me. I would also suggest slowing down the time of the images in the slideshow and also include a description of the image being shown.

  18. Strength: I like the slideshow - it's very dynamic and draws attention.

Work on: I think the navigation bar should be on one line. There are also a lot colors going on, so you might try checking out kuler to narrow down to ~3 colors to improve the aesthetic.

  19. Slow down the timing of the slideshow it is a bit dizzying.
