Response Three

AUDIENCE IS KING
The main concept of the articles was that the audience is a very important component of having a successful website.  The two articles from http://philosophe.com discuss figuring out who your audience is and why it's important to group them. A sites audience makes up the people, ranging from different skill levels of Internet competency, who determine your websites success. Researching the websites purpose will allow you to meet the needs and requirements of the specific users. A website creator/designer must determine what category their audience belongs in, a visitor or a shopper. Will they use the site to view but not necessarily use or buy? Or will the audience go to the site and purchase the product/service/argument? However, the articles did stress the importance of how difficult it is to group people into a specific kind of audience.

When creating a website one must not make assumptions of their audience because it will end up forcing unwanted ideas and beliefs onto the audience. Instead research and pay attention to actual behaviors of the audience. Doing this allows a web creator/designer to properly categorize his/her audience. Overall I believe the best quote to understanding the importance of these articles is that a good commerce site is built around a well-understood audience.
