Bitzer and the Rhetorical Situation

Reading Bitzer for the second time this year is much easier than it was last semester. Now it seems a bit easier to digest. It was starting to make some more sense and was easier to apply to the subject matter that we are dealing with this semester.

Anywhere that you find an audience, a set of constraints, and an exigency you have rhetorical situation. For Lloyd F. Bitzer these are the important components for the rhetorical situation. And with every rhetorical situation there are a set of constraints that you must deal with. All of these components change with every situation that you may identify and work with. So it is very important to pay attention to what type of situation  and audience you have.

Wile addressing the exigency you run into a set of constraints which limit the situation and effect the audience.  These are important factors in creating a rhetorical situation as well as identifying one. They shape the situation and are present everywhere. When it comes to realm of web design this is something that is always present and taken into account since there is always a purpose and a target audience that is trying to be reached in order to obtain a goal.
